Gang of Ghosts movie lacks the core essence of making a movie!

We were left heavily disappointed with that Satish Kaushik’s Gangs of Ghosts – the Hindi remake of famous Bengali film Bhooter Bhobishyo, meaning future of the ghosts – disappoints in more ways than one. However, let’s start off with the good bits of Gang of Ghosts movie review.
Talking about the positives from the movie, Gang of Ghosts starts off brilliantly with with Parambrata Chatterjee and Sharman Joshi, who have given a good performance – complete with near-perfect expressions, dialogue delivery. Not to forget, Anupam Kher, Saurabh Shukla and Rajpal Yadav, who have also done commendable jobs at playing their respective characters. As is proven in the film, except Mahie Gill every actor is good at comedy.
But sadly, for us and also the makers of the movie, who really worked hard in Gangs of Ghosts. Satish Kaushik surprisingly could not pull off a comedy the way we expected. Though the title of the movie has ‘Ghosts’ in it, this is not a horror film, but it revolves around the lives of ghosts, who are in trouble because someone or the other keeps destroying the peace at their humble adobe.
The story of Gangs Of Ghosts is a satirical take on the present political system, Bollywood and real estate scams which would have transformed into a great film provided, the story treatment and scripting was done in a better way. The movie has some pace and jokes in the first half but as the movie passes by, it becomes a intolerable experience because of strategical (read, cheap) shots of the female actors, unnecessary songs (the movie would have been better off without ‘em), a script with so many loopholes that can be compared with Indian roads, and shot in such a way that it will eventually give you a headache.
In a gist, Gangs Of Ghosts can be certainly given a miss. It’s actually very sad to see the work of such talented actors go in vain!
