Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade cleared with an ‘A’ certificate

Milap Zaveri’s upcoming sex comedy, Mastizaade starring Sunny Leone, Riteish Deshmukh, Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das had been stuck up for months now as it wasn’t being shown green light by the Censor Board. The film, which was supposed to release in May this year, had been delayed as the Board refused to certify the film citing content issues. The Board held that the film is too full of sexual innuendoes that weren’t fit for the Indian society. But that’s not where the trouble ended.

The makers then sent the film to the Rivision Committe only to face more rejection and disappointment. It was then, sent to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal for the final decision. For those who aren’t aware, the Tribunal works like a film court where you can contest the decision of the Board. Turns out it was the right move as the decision has come in favour of the film.Mastizaade has finally been cleared by the Censor Board with an ‘A’ certificate which the makers had originally applied for.

The new release date of the film is yet to be finalised.
