This was the first film written and directed by Farhan Akhtar. It is set in modern-day urban Mumbai and focuses on a major period of transition in the lives of three young friends. The city-oriented lifestyle depicted in the film where all the characters are from rich or upper-middle-class families was very appealing and entertaining. Over the years, it has attained a cult status. This was way back in 2001 when Aamir Khan was just “a Khan” and not “the Khan”. From this film his transformation was pretty evident.
